Consumers set up a blockbuster holiday season at the Box Office
26.1 Million People Online in FranceSocial Networking and Travel Sites Experience Rapid Growth
London, UK, July 26, 2007 – Comscore (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released its report on France’s top Internet properties and top gaining properties for June, based on data collected through the Comscore World Metrix audience measurement service.
Comscore found that the total French online population was 26.1 million people (age 15 and older) in June, an increase of 2 percent from May, with the average visitor spending over 27.5 hours online in the month.
Google remained the most visited property in France with 18.1 million unique visitors in June, and it now reaches 70 percent of the total French online population. Microsoft and France Telecom remained the second and third most visited properties in France, with 16.4 million and 14.0 million unique visitors respectively.
Within the top ten most visited properties, Groupe Pages Jaunes moved up a place to become the 5th most visited site in France, driven by a growth in traffic of 4 percent. The SkyRock Network and Groupe PPR also both experienced a growth in unique visitors of 4 percent, consolidating their position amongst the most visited sites in France.

The fastest growing property during the month was social networking site Badoo.com, which increased its unique visitors by 93 percent to 1.6 million. Fox Interactive Media, the parent company of MySpace, witnessed an increase in traffic of 17 percent during the month, giving it 3.4 million unique visitors. The boost in unique visitors to these sites shows the continued strength of the social networking genre.
The second and third fastest growing properties in June were The Mozilla Organization – driven by updates to and continued uptake of the Firefox Web browser – with 45 percent more unique visitors than in May, and Adobe Sites – driven by an update to its Adobe Acrobat series – with 38 percent more unique visitors than in May.
Other notable growth occurred within the travel sector, as people finalised their summer holiday plans online – with Expedia, Lastminute.com and SNCF all appearing in the top 10 fastest growing properties, experiencing month on month growth of 23, 15 and 13 percent respectively.
