Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 18, 2010 - Comscore, Inc. Among the presentation’s highlights included a look at the top online destinations for Argentines. The report found that Microsoft Sites led as the most-visited Internet property in the market, reaching 95 percent of all Internet users. Google Sites ranked as the second-most visited property with 11.6 million unique visitors, followed by Facebook.com with 10.7 million visitors. “The online channel in Argentina has experienced expansive growth in the past year with more people accessing the Internet and engaging with online content,” said Sebastian Yoffe, Comscore country manager for Argentina and Uruguay. “As one of the largest Internet markets in Latin America, Argentina represents an attractive environment for local and global brands to engage consumers that are turning to the Internet with increasing regularity.”
Microsoft Sites Attracts Largest Number of Visitors
In September 2010, nearly 13 million people age 15 and older visited the Internet from a home or work location in Argentina, a 9-percent increase from the previous year. Microsoft Sites ranked as the most-visited Internet property with 12.2 million visitors, up 24 percent, followed by Google Sites with 11.6 million visitors, up 18 percent. Facebook ranked third with 10.7 million visitors, climbing 54 percent, as the social networking destination continued gain fans across the Latin America region. Local property Grupo Clarin ranked as the fifth largest destination in the country with 6.1 million visitors, up 21 percent.
