Consumers set up a blockbuster holiday season at the Box Office
I love Big Data and nature, so working for Shareablee in Hungary is the ideal combination for me! I was born and raised in Bulgaria, went to university in Paris and lived for a year in Brussels before moving to Hungary, so my friends and memories are spread all over Europe. I love the forests, steppe, rivers and lakes of Hungary. Going out for hikes on the weekends helps me stay mentally recharged and able to focus on abstract data/backend technical challenges.
I always have my webcam and headset at hand, and type "how about a quick call?" quite frequently. To facilitate communication, I crack jokes. Sadly, they are not funny, but that works to my advantage: people have pity on me and are nice. Sometimes I tend to be a tad too verbose, as my wife would happily confirm, but I am improving in that field.
Explaining data is hard, but it is a fundamental part of being a backend engineer. All that data you have and the things you can do with it are not worth much if you cannot describe them. And very often there can be really tricky details! I try to use diagrams whenever I can. The great thing about explaining data is, every time I do it, I realize something new.
The client of ours that I’ve been the most involved with is one of the major social networks. They demand a lot of quality, consistency, rigor and precision. Growing the breadth of data we provide to them was a big success, and it was great to be part of the team that achieved that, and that continues to push the limits of what is possible with this partner.
I have a tiny autumn painting that we bought from a street artist in Prague. And that's actually the only non-utilitarian item in my office space! Except maybe for my colorful Dungeons & Dragons dice, which are useful only in very specific circumstances.
Cheers,
