Company Recently Ranked in Top 100 of Inc. 500 and Named Among Fastest-Growing Companies by Deloitte & Touche “Fast 50” Program
RESTON, Va., Oct. 20, 2004 – Comscore Networks today announced that it has received two major industry awards in acknowledgment of its outstanding growth record since the company’s founding five years ago. Comscore was ranked 97th in Inc. Magazine’s 23rd annual ranking of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. In addition, the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 program recently named Comscore one of only three “Rising Stars” among Virginia-based technology companies.
“Comscore has developed a portfolio of differentiated services that are used by many of the world’s leading marketers, advertising agencies and investment firms. We believe these two awards are a strong validation of the value we provide to our clients and the quality of work by our people,” said Dr. Magid Abraham, CEO and co-founder of Comscore Networks. “This is good news for our clients, our employees and our partners, and it only reinforces our commitment to deliver the best information services in the industry.”
The Inc. 500 ranking is based on growth rate in accrued revenue between 2000 and 2003 among companies with at least $2 million in sales in 2003. Comscore’s revenue has grown from less than $2 million in 2000 to $24.6 million in 2003, representing total growth of 1,161 percent and average annual growth of 290 percent. This placed Comscore at number 97 in this year’s Inc. 500 ranking. The Inc. 500 list was announced today and is available at the following address: www.inc.com/resources/inc500/.
“The best thing you can say about this year’s crop of Inc. 500entrepreneurs is that they didn’t buy into the hype,” said Inc.editor-in-chief John Koten. “When people were practically giving away funding in the late 1990s, these companies didn’t overextend, and when everyone hit the panic button a few years later, they stayed calm and seized opportunity.”
The Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 program ranks technology companies in each major U.S. region based upon historical revenue growth. Based upon revenue growth in the years 2001-2003, Comscore Networks was one of only three companies named to the Virginia program’s special “Rising Stars” award category, recognizing the fastest growing companies over this three-year period.
Comscore services are used by hundreds of marketers, including global leaders in diverse industries such as financial services, automotive, retail, travel, telecommunications, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, technology, media and entertainment. Comscore’s steadfast commitment to delivering outstanding client value is further manifest in an 87 percent client repeat rate in 2003. This summer, Comscore was named one of the five fastest growing research firms in the 31st annual Honomichl Top 50 ranking, which was published in the June issue of the American Marketing Association’s Marketing News.
