Although content flows 24/7 across social media platforms, timing can define whether a post sparks engagement or slips by unnoticed. When you post matters as much as what you post.

At Comscore, we analyse billions of actions—our measure of engagement that captures the activity of the users with their reactions, comments and the content they are sharing. This measurement is conducted across major social platforms such us Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) in the UK. The results we analyse below reveal the days and times when audiences are, on average, most receptive—insights that help brands and publishers cut through the noise of social media content and connect more effectively.

Of course, understanding when people engage is only one layer of a broader view of the social media environment. In our new report, The State of Social 2025 – UK Edition, we dive deeper into audience social media usage, platform dynamics, and the trends shaping the UK social landscape.
